[ Play ] [ Screenshots ] [ Dev Log ] This game requires Microsoft Silverlight to play. If you do not have Silverlight installed click on play or the image above to begin installing Silverlight. You will then be able to play the game. This is alpha version 0.1 of a new oriental themed roguelike in development. It has been in development for about 3 weeks. It is not a complete game. It is included here so that users may try out what is already completed. Instructions: Movement is controlled by the numpad like all standard roguelikes. Also, for laptop users q,w,e,a,s,d,z,x,c substitues for the numpad. Additionally there is a button movement system on the right side of the playing screen. At this point all other controls are accessed via the buttons in the game. Content: At this point the bare bones of the game is established. Now the important part must begin: adding content. At this point the player starts with two items: kodachi and a katana. The monk class is the only class that can level up. New items will be added. The monk class will be finished and then the other classes will be addressed. There is only one monster in the game. So to summarize more items and monsters will be added. Concurrently the classes will be fleshed out and more game play features will be added. Graphics: In keeping with the roguelike tradition the graphics are simple, but they are tile-based. There are future plans to add a more traditional ascii based tile set, but that will be after more content has been added. Comments: This is the beginnings of a roguelike game. Please have patience since more content will be added. This game can be discussed at the dephbokks forums and comments, suggestions, and questions will be addressed. Hopefully by trying out this alpha version the player will be able to get a flavor for what is trying to be accomplished. Hints: The game instructions are not well documented as of yet. So there may be some confusion on how to play. First you must create a character. Secondly you must hit the 'Play Character Now' button to begin the character in the character creation screen. To create a character, you can reroll your stats and name the character. The change class button changes the character class. From then on, to continue that character from the main menu you will just simply hit the load character button. The load character button will only load a character if one has been created! The game takes care of saving so you can start where you left off. Creating a new character kills your old one! This game is trying to introduce a new attack mode. It is called wuji. In Chinese this roughly translates to "ultimateless; boundless; infinite". You can hit the wuji move drop down menu to select the move. Then you hit the wuji button; it will become highlighted blue. Then on your next attack you will execute the move. This system will be developed further, but currently it is in a basic state. |
